Martin's Jewelers in Brandon, Florida was founded by Freddie Martin in 1954 and began as a simple watch repair business. Stricken by muscular dystrophy, Freddie hid the fact that he was not going to live long when he asked Joe to take over the business. He could never have predicted that his son Joe and his daughter-in-law Brenda would one day be known as the owners of one of the most successful and trusted jewelry stores in the Tampa Bay area.

At the time Joe was working in North Carolina, and thinking of marrying his sweetheart, Brenda. Joe and Brenda had married and were living in Brandon when Freddie passed away in 1969. Joe inherited the store and began the challenge of learning the jewelry business.

Now an expert jeweler, Joe Martin passes his expertise along to help educate his customers so they're confident with their purchases. From young couples buying their first diamond to couples celebrating their diamond anniversaries, we are here to teach customers everything they want to know about diamonds, gemstones and precious metals. This commitment to excellence over the years has enhanced our reputation with our clientele.

Our employees have jewelry industry expertise and have been with us for a long time. The fine jewelry business requires they meet the standards and criteria that comes from apprenticeship training and accumulated years of experience from a quality jeweler. We cherish our nine employees who have amassed nearly 300 years combined experience for their expertise and the gracious way they treat our customers, and our customers, some of them third generation, appreciate the fact that they see the same familiar faces every time they come in the store.

An employee since 1976, Dotty Ledford exemplifies quality customer service through sales and special orders. Our fine goldsmiths including master jeweler Rob Comfort, third generation jeweler Jeff Martin and Deo Gajadhar repair most jewelry on our premises. Michael Martin is our watchmaker, and our customers really appreciate his expertise when they need new watches or watch repair. Martha Stephenson has been our jewelry designer since 1990 and has more than 32 years experience in the jewelry industry. Our clientele is in good hands with our appraiser John Campbell. Our manager Don Korte with his team, assistant manager Ed McAuley and Cheryl McCoy round out the office staff. We have a great staff and their goal is to provide the best service in all areas of their expertise.

In addition we provide consultations in appraisals for insurance and estate purposes.

Martin's Jewelers is one of the oldest businesses remaining in Brandon, and we pride ourselves in our longevity. We are one of the oldest members of the Greater Brandon Chamber of Commerce, and we are proud to have been awarded Brandon's Best Jeweler since 1996.
